Nicolas Caramp is assistant professor of economics at the University of California, Davis, where he specializes in macroeconomics, monetary theory, and financial frictions.

Research Focus

Professor Caramp’ research focuses on the interaction between financial frictions and the real economy. The recent financial crisis uncovered the necessity of a better understanding of how developments in the financial sector can impact the real economy, and whether regulation can improve market outcomes. He also studies the sources of macroeconomic volatility, as well as the role of policy as a macroeconomic stabilizer.

Teaching

Professor Caramp teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in macroeconomics.
