Following the campus guidelines for Coronavirus all UC Davis classes, lectures, seminars, labs and discussion sections will move to virtual instruction and remain virtual through the end of Summer Session 2021, including final exams. Greg Clark's recent research on social mobility dispels long held views on the American Dream. Mobility in the U.S. is no better than that in medieval England, Clark says.

Greg Clark was recently interviewed by the CBS News Sacramento local station regarding his recent research on income mobility. In his recent book, "The Son also Rises," Clark used rare surnames to track the social status of families across centuries. His book shows that income mobility is considerably slower than previously thought. Watch the interview here.
