Following the campus guidelines for Coronavirus all UC Davis classes, lectures, seminars, labs and discussion sections will move to virtual instruction and remain virtual through the end of Summer Session 2021, including final exams. Can economic history help us understand financial crises? Alan Taylor, professor of economics at UC Davis, says that it can. Along with a large team of researchers, he collected data going back until the 19th century that covers hundreds of financial episodes in several different countries. He describes the findings in this short video posted on Vox.
