Bio
My research focuses on understanding how violence, a pervasive global challenge, shapes youth engagement in crime, education, and economic opportunities. I study how exposure to violent environments affects human capital formation and life trajectories, and how public policies designed to combat violence can generate intended and unintended consequences. By combining microdata with experimental and quasi-experimental methods, my work seeks to provide causal evidence on how safety, opportunity, and social context influence development outcomes.
Research Interests & Expertise
