Can you describe your career path from your first job after UC Davis to your current position?
After graduating, my first job was an Assistant Financial Controller. I was promoted from assistant financial controller to Financial Controller. Now I am completing my MBA.
What do you do in your job? What is your work like?
Some things I worked on in my previous role as a Financial Controller were cash flow budgets for financial statements, tax compliance, tax planning, and portfolio management for venture capital (NOT choosing companies, but reviewing round documents and executing the wire transfers).
Are there any opportunities you found helpful or would suggest for undergraduates in our program?
I was part of the Undergraduate Women in Economics Society which I really enjoyed and would recommend.
What advice do you have for students interested in your career field?
If you can find a company that is interested in people with potential who can grow, then you just need to show your genuine interest and commitment to learn.
