Distinguished Emeritus Professor Alan Olmstead receives 2016 Allan Sharlin Memorial Award

Distinguished Emeritus Professor Alan Olmstead, along with his co-author Paul Rhode, have been awarded the 2016 Allan Sharlin Memorial Award for Arresting Contagion as the best book in social science history that was published in 2015. This is quite an achievement to be selected as there was both international and interdisciplinary competition for the award. This is not the first time that a professor from the UC Davis economics department has won this award: Peter Lindert received the same honor in 2005 for Growing Public.

More information on Arrested Contagion, including reviews, can be found on the Harvard University Press website here: http://www.hup.harvard.edu/catalog.php?isbn=9780674728776
