Alert Banner

In alignment with the campus directives regarding precautions surrounding COVID-19, the Economics, History and Advising Center is now physically closed. Our advisors remain available remotely and will be offering academic advising appointments to students through phone or Zoom. Once you have scheduled your appointment in the online appointment system, your advisor will reach out to you via email with instructions on how to connect with them.

Transfer Students

Congratulations on your admission to UC Davis and Welcome to the Economics Major! To help you prepare for a great first year, we have planned a comprehensive UC Davis Orientation experience in three parts: Aggie 101, Aggie Advising, and Aggie Orientation!

TO GET STARTED, HERE ARE YOUR STEPS TO SUCCESS:

1) You must complete Aggie 101 through your MyAdmissions Portal

2)  After completing Aggie 101, you will then schedule an appointment with us, your Major advisors. You will need your UC Davis Login ID and Kerberos Passphrase to access the Online Appointment System. Once you have logged in,  select "Economics, History and East Asian Studies". Please enter your information and select the reason "Transfer: Aggie Advising"

3) Prepare for your appointment by doing the following:

  • Review your Transfer Guide
  • Find 2-3 non-major courses that you would be interested in taking in Fall 2020 alongside 1-2 major courses
  • It is not recommended to pair any of the core courses (ECN 100A, 100B, 101 or 102) together during any quarter
  • Click on this diagram to help you identify courses of interest outside of your major
  • Remember to check prerequisites to make sure you’re eligible for the course
  • Review the resources for new students from the College of Letters and Science. Our Advising Center will assist you with your major requirements and the College will assist you with your general education and college/university requirements. Throughout your career at UC Davis, you will work with both of these offices for academic advising.  We always encourage you to check in with the College of Letters and Science Undergraduate Education and Advising Office regarding requirements outside of the major: http://ls.ucdavis.edu/advising
