Following the campus guidelines for Coronavirus all UC Davis classes, lectures, seminars, labs and discussion sections will move to virtual instruction and remain virtual through the end of Summer Session 2021, including final exams. UCD Economics Alum Ben Mandel discusses tariffs on Bloomberg News

Benjamin Mandel, a UC Davis Economics alumnus, former economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and now Executive Director and Global Strategist for J.P. Morgan Asset Management Group, discussed in detail the implications of escalating trade tensions for U.S. asset markets and the macroeconomy on Bloomberg News.

A specialist in international trade during his studies in the Ph.D. program, Mandel cited the complexities of supply-chain connections across borders as informing his predictions for what tariffs might mean for financial and macroeconomic variables like profit margins and inflation.
