Description

This course will provide students with a broad economic framework for understanding inequalities in the labor market. Topics typically include human capital theory, discrimination, intergenerational mobility and unemployment.  Students will learn basic facts about these topics, and then delve more deeply into current research and policy questions.   The course aims to equip students with tools that will enable them to critically evaluate current social problems from an economic perspective.
